Baccarat is a simple game to learn and play. The rules are very comprehensible and once you learn them, it’s easy to build your own strategy. Here you can learn Baccarat rules. The regular Baccarat table is about the size of a craps table with 3 casino dealers and up to 12 or 14 players. Cards in Baccarat are dealt to two hands, named Player and Banker. The player who actually deals is not assuming any financial responsibility of the other Baccarat players bets. Two cards face dow are dealt each to the player and the banker. If the hand on which the player placed his bet has won, he wins even money. It means that the odds are 1 to 1. If there is a tie, and you have bet on a tie, you are paid 8 to 1. It means you receive eight times your original bet. The object of Baccarat is to bet on the hand that you think will have the highest total value. Here suits don't matter. Only single digit values are valid. To start, the players bet either on bank or player or Standoff (Tie). The card dealer gives two cards each player - first to the player and then the banker. A third card may be dealt to either or both the player and the bank. In this case the rules are: If either the player or the bank have a total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards no further cards are drawn. The resulting hand in Baccarat is called a natural and the hand is over. In the case when players total is less than or equal to 5 the players hand draws a third card. If the player does not draw a third card, then the banks hand stands on 6 or more and takes a third card on a total of 5 or less. When you play Baccarat you are considered the player, and you are able to either bet on the banker’s hand or the player’s hand, or even a tie between the two.

House advantage of Baccarat:
Banker 1.17%
Player 1.36%
Tie 14.12% at 8:1 payout

If you bet on Player and win, you win even money. If you bet on Banker and win, you win even money minus a 5% commission. You can also place a bet on Tie, which pays 9 to 1.

Card values of Baccarat:
- Cards 2 through 9 count as face value.
- 10, Jack, Queen, and King count as 0.
- Ace counts as 1.

To calculate the score for the hand in Baccarat you must add the values of each card and drop the tens digit. If your hand total is in double figures, then the first figure is ignored. The perfect hand here is one that totals nine in the first two cards. Eight is the second-best hand and, along with the nine, it constitutes the two natural hands. If any player hand or the Bank has a natural eight or nine, the others may not draw a third card. In a tie, bets are called off. The player with the most money is usually declared the banker. If the player has a count less than eight or nine, he may stand or get one more card face up . The player must stand on six or seven and must draw on four or less. Casinos usually take their percentage of the bank and bets as their fee for the game. There is very little you can do to influence the outcome at Baccarat. A good strategy would be to ride on the outcome and vary the intensity of betting appropriately - more as you win, less as you lose.
