Play Baccarat Online
Baccarat is the oldest of all games played in modern casinos and it is one of the easiest casino games to play. Records suggest the game may have been played as far back as the fifteenth century in France where it is sometime known as punto banco. There are just three bets to make and the game is often played for very high odds. In traditional casinos Baccarat tables are often kept separate from the rest of the casino in a ‘Baccarat Pit.’ Now-a-days baccarat is played not only at land based casinos. The enthusiasts can find this game at all good online casino websites.
Baccarat is a card game played with a single deck of cards. The goal of the game is to obtain a hand with a point total closest to 9. Aces count as one; 2 through 9 as their face value; tens and picture cards count as zero. If the value of the hand is ten points or more, subtract ten, and the remainder is the baccarat point value of the hand.
You can place your bet on the banker's hand and/or on the player's hand and/or on a tie. The player and the banker are dealt a two-card hand. In certain cases, a third card is dealt to the player or the banker or both. Cards are dealt from a shoe that holds 6 decks of cards. The decks are shuffled each round. The player closest to 9, wins.
There are three variations of baccarat:
Chemin de fer - it is almost the same game as the traditional baccarat. The main difference is that the casino doesn't play the role of banker, In Chemin de fer you cannot just bet on Player or Bank, you must be one or the other.
European Baccarat - it has two key differences in rules as compared to American Baccarat (The player has the option of standing or drawing on 5. The banker also has an option on whether to draw a third card, although in practice the casino generally follows the rules of play for American baccarat);
Baccarat en Banque - this variation of Baccarat you can find in some European casinos. The goal of the game is the same, but the difference is that only the house plays the role of banker.
