FLUSH - five cards of same suit.
STRAIGHT - five cards in sequence
THREE OF A KIND - three cards of same rank.
TWO PAIR - two groups of two cards of same rank.
PAIR - one pair of two equal value cards constitutes a pair
HIGH CARD - when your hand has no pairs, and is not a straight or a flush, the highest value card determines its relative value.

When you play Jacks or Better it is good for you to keep any two suited high cards and to discard unsuited high cards. If you have four mixed-suit high cards, keep any three suited.
